School holidays in Czech Republic 2023-2024-2025-2026

We dedicated this publication on ALYO.info to the following topic: School holidays in Czech Republic 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026. In the article we will give the exact dates of summer, autumn, Christmas, spring and Easter holidays in Czech schools. We will also list the holidays when children in the Czech Republic are exempt from classes.

How the school year works in the Czech Republic

The school year in the Czech Republic is divided into two halves. They are separated by a short rest period of three days – a six-month (semester) break. In addition, during the school year in the Czech Republic there are five holiday periods:

    1. Summer holidays.
    2. Autumn vacation.
    3. Christmas Holidays.
    4. Spring break.
    5. Easter holidays.

Report cards are issued at the end of the semester. Czech schoolchildren receive it on the last day of school before the six-month break. As a rule, this happens on Thursday, since the six-month break usually falls on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to school holidays, children in Czech Republic relax on public holidays. But the school year system is designed in such a way that only four such dates do not fall on vacation. Below we have given their dates and days of the week for each academic year. If a holiday is not listed, it means it falls on a Saturday or Sunday and schools are closed on that day.
