School holidays in the Czech Republic 2024-2025-2026-2027

This publication on ALYO.info is dedicated to the following topic: School holidays in the Czech Republic 2024-2025, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. In the article, we will provide the exact dates of summer, autumn, Christmas, spring and Easter holidays in Czech schools. We will also list the holidays when children in the Czech Republic are exempt from classes.

How the school year is structured in the Czech Republic

The school year in the Czech Republic is divided into two semesters. They are separated by a short three-day break – a half-year (semester) break. In addition to this, there are five holiday periods during the school year in the Czech Republic:

    1. Summer holidays.
    2. Autumn holidays.
    3. Christmas holidays.
    4. Spring break.
    5. Easter holidays.

Report cards are issued at the end of the semester. Czech schoolchildren receive their report card on the last day of school before the semester break. This usually happens on Thursday, as the semester break usually falls on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to school holidays, children in the Czech Republic have public holidays. However, the school year system is designed in such a way that only four such dates do not fall on holidays. Below we have listed their dates and days of the week for each school year. If a holiday is not indicated, it means that it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, and schools are closed on this day.
