This is necessary to know: What kind of schools are there in Israel
In Israel, religion plays a major role in choosing a school. Most schools are designed for Jews, but there are educational institutions for representatives of other religions. They have the same school schedule, but the holidays they observe differ. There are four groups of schools:
- Catholic, Latin, Angelic and Maronite schools.
- Greek, Orthodox and Armenian Orthodox schools.
- Muslim (Arabic) schools.
- Druze schools.
Depending on the type of school, its own holidays may be added to the school year schedule. There are general recommendations, but administrations can adjust the schedule. The same applies to schools with advanced Torah studies and schools located in kibbutzim. The official schedule of school holidays in Israel for 2024-2025 is not always observed for them.
We will provide the schedule of religious holidays at the end of the article. Below you will find a schedule of holidays in Israeli schools with an indication of days off from school, timed to coincide with holidays.
