How the school year is structured in Polish schools
The school year is divided into two semesters. They are separated by winter holidays, which fall in January-February (depending on the region and year). In the first semester there is a Christmas holiday, which usually lasts eight days. In the second semester there is a break for the Easter holidays (spring break).
Summer, Christmas and spring holidays are on the same dates. Winter holidays vary depending on the region of the country. Poland is divided into 16 voivodeships. They are grouped into four. In 2024-2025, children in Poland have six days off in addition to the regular school holidays. They are linked to public holidays. Polish schools are closed on the following days:
